Administration

Rhonda Cromwell is the Executive Director at Campus Middle School for Girls.  She received her B.A. in History and her teaching certificate from the University of California at Riverside.  She completed her Masters Degree in Education at California State University, San Bernardino. She taught 8th grade U.S. History at Amelia Earhart Middle School in Riverside California for 8 years.  She was an Education Specialist for the University of Illinois working with the Association of Illinois Middle-Level Schools for 3 years prior to her appointment at CMS.  She enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and running. 
Eva Kammel is the Assistant Director at Campus Middle School. She teaches Math, coordinates the Math/Science/Computer curriculum, and assists the director in administrative and everyday duties. She was born in Vienna, Austria, attended the University of Vienna and received a Master degree in Math and Physics, specializing in secondary education, followed by her teacher’s training and experience of 15 years of teaching grades 5-12 at a college preparatory school (“Gymnasium”) in Vienna. In 1994 she and her family moved to the United States due to her husband‘s appointment first to UC Berkeley, then to UIUC. In Berkeley she taught at a private middle school until she moved to Champaign in 2000. Since then she has been involved in Campus Middle School either as a parent, teacher, administrator or coordinator for projects involving University students.

Linda Tortorelli is the Business Manager at Campus Middle School.
Candace Weedman is the Administrative Assistant at Campus Middle School.

English/History

Mary Biddle teaches Language Arts and Social Studies to our 6th and 7th graders.  She is in her 19th year as a middle school teacher, her 6th at CMS.  She has a B.A. from the University of Kentucky.  She has been a staff development instructor for Unit Four Schools and a seminar presenter in several Illinois school districts.  Mrs. Biddle enjoys running, gardening - and reading and writing, of course!
Judy Nolen teaches 8th grade History and English at CMS. She is a retired teacher from Unit 4 schools. She teaches part time at Parkland college.

Mathematics

Alfred Hubler is a professor at the University of Illinois. He is the father to six daughters, all of whom have attended CMS. He teaches 8th grade Algebra 1 part 2 at CMS.

Andrew Vlasic is a student at the University of Illinois. He is a fellow with the GK-12 grant and works with CMS students teaching critical thinking and reasoning.

Science

Joan Campagnolo recieved a BS in Biology in 84'; BA in Psychology in 86';  Masters in Biology in 88'; and MEd. in Elementary Education in 92'. She is certified in the State of Illinois to teach K-9 and in Physical, Life, Earth, and Social Sciences. All degrees were from U of I, Urbana-Champaign.  She taught Physical, Earth and Biological Science for the middle school grades at Thomasboro Elementary School in 93/94 and 94/95 school years.  She started working part time as a biology teacher at Home Hi (now Campus Middle School) in January of 2002.
Amy Harper teaches 6th grade Computers 1, 7th grade Computers 2, and 8th grade Chemistry.  She is a student at the U of I.

Spanish

Kathy Bowersox will teach Spanish 1 to all new 7th and 8th grade students.
Maria 'Lola' Sanjurjo-Espino  teaches Spanish. She received a B.A in Education (Spanish and Modern Languages) from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. She also received a B.A (Arts&Science) from the University of Lincoln, NE.  She is a certified Spanish teacher (7-12 grades) in the State of Connecticut, and is now in the process of obtaining IL certification. Before coming to Il in 2005, she taught Spanish for five years in CT, most recently at the Williams School in New London, CT. In addition to teaching, she enjoys watercolor painting and gardening.

Computer Science

Amy Harper teaches 6th grade Computers 1, 7th grade Computers 2, and 8th grade Chemistry.  She is a student at the U of I.
Meghan Jones teaches 8th grade Computers 3.  She is a student at the U of I. 

Kristiann Rushton teaches 8th grade Computers 3.  She is a student at the U of I.

Music

Jill Burlingame teaches Recorder and Music Appreciation.  She received a Bachelor of Music Education from Wheaton College.  Currently, she is working on a Masters in Flute Performance at the University of Illinois were she was awarded a fellowship in 2004, and subsequently received an assistantship to teach Music Education undergraduates.  In addition, Jill teaches flute privately, has been the director the Lombard Mennonite Children’s Chorus, taught Kindermusik classes for preschoolers, performed educational concerts in schools with a woodwind quintet, and has been on faculty at multiple summer music camps, most recently at the Illinois Summer Youth Music camp in Urbana.  Jill is also in the process of becoming a certified Alexander Technique teacher.
Carol Clark teaches 8th grade World Music.  She has taught at CMS/Home Hi for over four years.
Juliane Gorretta teaches 6th grade Chorus and 7/8th grade Chorus.  She is a graduate student at the U of I.

Fine Arts

Cheryl Louviere has been a resident of Champaign Urbana for over 14 years. Her husband Joseph Squier and her have two silly, lovely daughters.  She enjoys hiking, biking, and reading, as well as drawing, painting, and general art artmaking. She has taught art to children and adults throughout her adult life beginning with an arts workshop that she designed and taught during college.  She has continued her teaching career in both public and private school settings, as well as small group instruction in her home.   She loves exploring all kinds of art media with students and watching them become inspired by that process.  She is also very much looking forward to the sketching classes and sustained studies which allow for real skill building over time.
